First: Trey Songz "Can't Help But Wait"
Ol' sexy flexy ass nigga
I liked Trey's first album, and he was one of the hardest working men this summer putting out mixtapes, doing shows, and working on Trey Day. Now I wasn't a big fan of Wonder Woman since it sounded like all Timbaland R&B beats, but "Can't Help But Wait" is a pretty solid song. Produced by Stargate and written by Johnta Austin, it's basically about how he want some chick to leave her man for him. Now I'm not for breaking up happy homes, but it's a good listen, and actually one of the few songs that they play on the radio that I don't change the station for.
Next:
Plies ft Akon- "Hypnotized"
Soon as I heard the Konvict drop, I was ready to cut it off, but I said I would give it a chance. I'm sad I did. Not really much I can say about it. I listened to the clean version first, and I was able to stomach it. I then played the explicit version, and I don't understand how girls dance to this in the clubs. Are y'all even listening to what he says? The concept is played out. How many songs do we really need about how a girl shakes it?
Obviously one more.........
Flo-Rida ft. Thelonious Pain "Low"
We all know T Pain is basically the go to guy now and days if you want a hit, and Flo Rida is no exception. He probably needs the help more than anyone. I swear I played the song more that five times, and I honestly don't remember anything about the song. So, I had to stop whatever I was doing and actually LISTEN to get anything out of it. And I came to the conclusion that if you absolutely listen to something ass, this isn't a bad choice. If it was a life or death situation between listeing to "Hypnotized" and "Low"...........
Lastly, the light at the end of the tunnel......
Lupe Fiasco "Dumb It Down"
After that brief stint of trash, it was so refreshing to hear something of actual content. The premise of the song is about him being asked to dumb down his music to please record companies and your everyday ign'ant person on the street. At the end where he refuses to "Dumb It Down", it almost like a challenge to other artist to stand up for their creative rights and not sacrifice the quality of their music for spins. I can't wait for The Cool, his next album dropping in December which I urge all of you to get.
I got more stuff, but I got a headache lol. I'll be back, but to hold you over here's some cooning by Yoda. Kisses!!!!!
